Curtain Making Service

Here in the UK we’re fortunate to enjoy such a varied and top class range of fabric designers. From the popular Cath Kidston who has determinedly made her mark on the British high street in recent years, to the elegant countryside wonders produced by former Welsh design house Elanbach and the funky, colourful fabrics of London-based jet-setting world traveller Andrew Martin, we truly are blessed with an abundance of choice in terms of colour, pattern and textures.

Bespoke Blinds and Curtains

So it’s no wonder that thousands of homeowners with a taste for interior design are ordering fabrics and choosing to have their Roman blinds or curtains readymade instead. And that’s where we come in at Curtains Made Simple. We’re happy to order in the fabric for you and design to your specifications or even produce them based on a particular fabric you’ve sent us (provided it’s in a suitable condition for the style you’re looking for – but you can always ask our advice on this).

At Curtains Made Simple we regularly receive requests from customers who have found material while abroad and brought it home with them to create bespoke curtains or blinds. We even produce bespoke curtains and blinds from High Street premises such as John Lewis, Liberty, Laura Ashley or Peter Jones.

Creating Fabrics for Children

Children love the idea of having photographs of themselves or their favourite action hero in a scene they’ve produced themselves. And that’s where silk screen companies come in. They can produce a bespoke fabric which can then be custom made into curtains or Roman blinds. It’s a great way for a child to get a unique touch to their own special room. Adults can do it too, of course – produce their own design. In fact, the world’s pretty much your oyster these days in terms of readymade fabrics or designing your own. In the end it really comes down to time and money.

Secondhand Fabrics and Bespoke Curtains or Blinds

Here at Curtains Made Simple we have seen a rise in the number of customers sending second hand fabrics to be customised into curtains. This is understandable considering the growth of boot sales and markets within the past decade or so. Retro and vintage fabrics can easily be picked up at these locations and, provided the quality of the fabric is good, can make excellent curtains or blinds material. Just be careful though to check for stains and faults – dry cleaning doesn’t remove all stains.

Meanwhile, if you do order from us, depending on the fabric, some curtains or blinds can arrive creased due to being folded for postage. If the creases don’t fall out after a fortnight the fabric can be ironed (cool setting) and rehung.
